In China, the question of a second DDGS dumping investigation is on the table following complaints by two domestic companies, one of which may be government-owned, who believe the US is acting is an uncompetitive manner. The first investigation began in 2010 but later dropped in mid-2012. The news has weighed on exports to China and therefore DDGS prices, but a strong dollar is also having negative impacts on demand. China has been the main destination for US DDGS exports this year, accounting for 58% of total exports through August with 4.93 million metric tons.
