In Australia, the RACQ has made an about turn in its attitude towards ethanol blending and now says it supports a mandate of 2% with 3% seen as feasible in 2020, but nowhere near the 10% promoted by renegade MP Bob Katter. Back in 2010 when the Queensland government sought to introduce an E5 mandate, the RACQ said 20% of vehicles weren’t compatible, saying that now that figure has dropped to 15% and will be around 7% in 2020.
