In Washington DC, the Renewable Fuels Association announced it will be a founding member of the SAF Coalition, which was launched as a tool to advocate for the establishment of significant and durable federal policies related to the production, consumption and distribution of sustainable aviation fuel. “Expanding the availability of sustainable aviation fuel is an important part of decarbonizing the transportation sector, and the U.S. ethanol industry stands ready to play a vital role in this transition,” said RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper. “The SAF Coalition’s diverse membership is a reflection of the exciting future that lies ahead for the renewable fuels industry and our partners up and down the supply chain. We look forward to working with the other members of the coalition to advance the development of low- and zero-carbon, sustainable aviation fuels.” The SAF Coalition is a nonprofit group representing the full spectrum of the SAF value chain. In addition to RFA, the coalition membership consists of more than 40 airlines and aircraft operators, agricultural enterprises, aircraft and aircraft equipment manufacturers, airports, technology developers, labor unions and biofuel producers.
