In Canada, the NorAmera ethanol plant in Weyburn, Saskatchewan has been mothballed since May after it filled up its storage tanks but couldn’t sell fuel to retailers. Despite the summer driving season coming up, demand hasn’t picked up as expected so the facility remains shut. The company hopes to reopen once it sells off some of its 1.5 million liters worth of supplies on hand, roughly equivalent to three weeks of production.
