In China, two Sinopec gas stations in Shanghai have begun selling B5 to passenger vehicles following a successful trial that saw 104 buses run on biodiesel blends. The fuel is being sold at a 5% discount against B0 in order to encourage drivers to try the new fuel. The biodiesel comes from used cooking oil as part of a program to deter excessively used oil, known as swill oil, from returning to the food supply chain or being thrown into the wastewater system.
