Smartenergy intends to produce green hydrogen in Egypt

In Egypt, Ashark Al-Awsat reported that Swiss company Smartenergy intends to expand in Egypt by producing green hydrogen in a project of approximately $1 billion.

Smartenergy has reached an advanced level in the negotiations with the Egyptian government to establish a facility to start hydrogen production in the African nation, according to the report.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Switzerland, Smartenergy focuses on investments in renewable energy and related ventures. The company has ongoing projects in Germany, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
