In Spain, Enegas said that the Council of Ministers in Spain approved the agreement authorizing the company to provisionally exercise the functions of developing European Projects of Common Interest (PCI) for hydrogen networks in the country. These functions are the application for authorization, construction, commissioning, operation, monitoring and maintenance of the hydrogen transport and storage infrastructures recognized as PCIs, said Enegas. Following the approval of the Council of Ministers, Enagás confirmed it will start the formal process for the granting of authorizations for European Projects of Common Interest (PCI). In its 2022-2030 strategic plan, Enagás had prioritized the development of hydrogen infrastructures as a key axis to contribute to the security of supply and decarbonization of Spain and Europe.
