In California, Courthouse News Services reports AltAir Paramount wants to expand its biorefinery but a Superior Court judge said last week he is likely to put a halt on it because he seems to be in agreement with environmental groups who are concerned about the facility’s close proximity to residential areas. World Energy, the current owners of the facility that began refining fuels in the 1930s, wants to increase production 7-fold to 25,000 barrels per day from the current 3,500 barrels per day, but groups say the Environmental Impact Report is misleading and the judge agrees.
