#6 British entrepreneur launches bioplastic feminine care products

In London, entrepreneur Afsaneh Parvizi-Wayne has launched a company to produce eco-friendly feminine hygiene products.

Dubbed Freda, the company produces tampons with applicators made from sugarcane bioplastic. “Periods are now ‘woke’ and the sector, after decades of remaining stagnant, is finally getting some attention,” Parvizi-Wayne tells Forbes. “We are taking the most used products, pads and tampons, and just improving them: ditching the chemicals, the perfumes, the dyes and the synthetic materials. Our view is what you can’t put in your mouth or your face, you definitely shouldn’t be putting inside your body.”
