Swachh Bio to invest Rs 1,000 Crore in Telangana for cellulosic biofuel plant

In India, The New Indian Express reports Swachh Bio, a leading manufacturer of lignocellulosic biofuels, has announced plans to establish a second-generation cellulosic biofuel plant in Telangana. With an investment exceeding Rs 1,000 crore in the first phase, the plant will have a capacity of 250 kiloliters per day. This significant investment was revealed following a meeting between Swachh Bio’s leadership and an official delegation from Telangana, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, in New York.

The new facility is expected to provide direct employment to 250 people, with an additional 250 jobs created in support roles. Swachh Bio’s chairperson, Praveen Paripati, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with the Telangana government, citing the state’s decentralized development vision under Chief Minister Reddy as a key factor in their decision. The company aims to help transform Telangana into a biofuels hub by setting up additional plants in the future.

The Telangana government has pledged full support to Swachh Bio’s initiatives, highlighting the project as a critical step towards sustainable energy and economic growth in the region. This venture marks a significant milestone in Telangana’s push towards becoming a leader in biofuel production.
