Cell-cultured cotton, microbial leather for sustainable fashion are the two companies in the Petri accelerator program representing industrial biotechnology and agriculture. We love textiles, and rethinking cotton and leather is just completely fundamental to future sustainability when you factor in the rise in global population and affluence — where’s all the leather and cotton going to come from if produced in the old manner. It’s great news, come to think of it, for cattle, too.
