6. Carbon components now are worth 70 percent of low-carbon heavy duty fuels

Mike McCurdy offered this look at the value stack for sustainable aviation fuel in California. A whopping 70 percent of the value is in the carbon, or should we say in the lack of carbon. Now, as more producers come on line at scale that number is sure to fall — but it shows that the LCFS has teeth when it comes to incentivizing renewable fuels.
