If you want to express love for cellulosic ethanol, you might express it in Portuguese, because Brazil is producing a whole bunch. Why? As Raizen’s Energy Transition Director Raphaellla Gomes said at ABLC, it’s about experience handling sugarcane biomass, and the great costs of using a feedstock, bagasse, which is paid for by the sugar extraction process. And is very sustainable. And already is in the processing plant. Just some of the reasons why Raizen, using Iogen technology, is recording more than 70 percent uptime and has produced some 100 million liters of cellulosic ethanol. More to come, Gomes promises.
