Fluid Quip Process Technologies’ Clean Sugar Technology (CST)
What does it do, how does it work, who is it aimed at?
The CST technology provides glucose to the Biochemical Industry at, or below, $0.10 per pound. The CST process has demonstrated its ability to provide ROI in less than two years to a Dry Grind Ethanol Plant who retrofits the technology, allowing the EtOH Plant to diversify from producing Ethanol and DDGS to providing high quality, low cost feedstock to a biochemical producer.
Competitively, what gives this technology an edge?
Cost & Quantity – no wet mill in existence can produce glucose at, or below, $0.10/lb. CST has done this, at commercial scale, since 2016. Additionally, most biochemical players do not need large volumes (>100kMT/yr) glucose typically supplied by wet mill companies. Because the biochem final product is low volume and high margin, they can utilize smaller volumes from a range of Ethanol plants Location – allows for a number of locations around the world that process cereal grains (not just corn).
What stage of development is this technology at right now?
Current commercial CST system installed at CMR (Green Biologics) produces 110k MT/yr glucose. Announced partnership with White Dog Labs to install 240k MT/yr CST glucose system
