3. SAF soars

The Biden Administration has set a 3 billion gallon target for 2030, we think they want to convert corn ethanol to SAF (good for farmers, good for ethanol producers, good for SAF). They’ll take as much unconventional sustainable ethanol as companies like LanzaJet can produce, too. But, never mind how they’re going to get there. Just note that the demand is worldwide — Europe wants SAF even more than the USA, and Asia’s getting ambitious too. That means the outlook is incredible bullish as long as someone finds an affordable feedstock and builds or taps capacity, soon. There’s a lot to accomplish in that one sentence, but we think that SAF production announces are going to be the fuels story of 2022.
