In Washington, Reuters reports the Biden Administration is set to announce its decision regarding corn-based ethanol’s eligibility for Sustainable Aviation Fuel subsidies by the end of this week. The guidance to be released by Treasury follows several months of intensive lobbying to ensure the corn-based ethanol industry isn’t left out of lucrative tax breaks for SAF, yet there have been concerns about the GHG emissions calculations used to determine the feedstocks’ environmental credentials.
