Tunisia signs MoU with European companies to produce hydrogen

In the Netherlands, Offshore Energy reported that Tunisia has signed six memoranda of understanding (MoU) with European firms for the production of green hydrogen.

The deals were signed on July 29, under the supervision of the Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy Fatima Thabet Shiboub, according to the report.

The companies involved in the six projects include Tunur in cooperation with Aker Horizons and Verbund, Savannah Energy, Hydrogen of France, DEME Hyport, Abo Energy and an alliance of Amarenco and H2 Global.

The report also highlighted that Tunisia aims to produce 8.3 million tons of green hydrogen and its derivatives by 2050. The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines said that 2.3 million tons will be directed to the local market and 6 million tons for export.
