In Texas, Ship and Bunker reports that a panel at the IBIA Annual Convention in Houston recently felt that US demand for marine biofuel was well behind that in Singapore and Northwest Europe. One of the speakers felt that it may be because US biofuel policy doesn’t include tax incentives for using biodiesel as marine fuel, just in road transport. Biofuel bunker trials are underway in the US and showing good results so far, another speaker said, but although she felt demand would eventually increase, it wasn’t going to be right away.
