Verdalia Bioenergy acquires four biomethane plants in the northern Italy

In Italy, Verdalia Bioenergy, backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s infrastructure unit, has acquired four biomethane plants in the northern Italian regions of Piedmont and Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

The plants, which will be operational between Q4 2025 and Q2 2026, will have a total annual production capacity of approximately 230 GWh of biomethane deriving from the treatment of 262,000 tons of biomass of animal and plant origin. Between them they will eliminate approximately 53,000 tons of greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions per year.
