In Alabama, the Oil & Gas Journal reports Vertex Energy has become the first flexible refinery to pivot its renewable diesel hydrocracker back to processing petroleum on the back of high renewable diesel supplies in the market. It relaunched the hydrocracker on Oct. 9 after having announced the turn around back in May. The relaunch took place during planned Q3 maintenance. Before shutting down renewable diesel production, it achieved a throughput of 3,092 b/d and production yield of 99.7% in Q2.
