In the Ukraine, VITAGRO Group has successfully injected the first Ukrainian biomethane into the gas transportation system. This is a milestone for Ukraine, unlocking opportunities for the export of eco-friendly biofuel.
The VITAGRO plant in the Khmelnytskyi region is supplying biomethane into the GTS at 60-70% of the planned volumes, approximately 6,000 cubic meters daily. By the end of October, production is expected to increase, and by November, the first export of Ukrainian biomethane abroad is anticipated.
This project, with an investment of 6 million euros, contributes to Ukraine’s energy independence and the development of clean technologies. The production utilizes both VITAGRO’s own raw materials and purchased ones, including livestock and agricultural waste. Importantly, besides biomethane, the plant produces organic fertilizers that are already in use in the agricultural sector.
