In Mexico, News in America reported that Mexican airline Volaris joined the initiative promoted by Airbus, in which several actors in the aeronautical industry in Mexico participate, to accelerate the development of SAF. The airline noted that the invitation is open to academic and research institutions to present proposals that help accelerate the production and scalability of SAF. “For Volaris, being part of this type of initiative is crucial to accelerate the development of SAF, with the objective of ensuring the sustainable viability of our model, but, above all, implementing effective actions in favor of the environment. In fact, we have carried out important actions in this area to boost the production and, in the future, the use of this type of fuel,” said Enrique Beltranena, executive president and general director of Volaris. Last year, Volaris signed an investment agreement in a US startup for the development of SAF, in which Volaris acquired 30 million gallons.
