Wan Hai drops biofuel flex in Singapore with KPI OceanConnect

October 10, 2024 |

In Singapore, Wan Hai Lines, in collaboration with KPI OceanConnect, completed its first biofuel delivery when container vessel WAN HAI 510 was supplied with B24 biofuel by SK Energy International at the Port of Singapore on October 7th. The biofuel, certified by the ISCC, is designed to cut emissions by up to 20% compared to traditional marine fuel oil.

KPI OceanConnect, with its extensive global experience in biofuel bunkering across more than 100 ports, facilitated this delivery as part of its mission to help clients transition to lower-emission fuels. Jesper Sørensen, Head of Alternative Fuels and Carbon Markets at KPI OceanConnect said, “Wan Hai Lines has been a long-standing partner of KPI OceanConnect, and we are proud to have facilitated its first biofuel delivery. With our robust expertise in biofuel bunkering and global reach, we are able to support clients in progressing their alternative fuel strategy.”

For Wan Hai, this collaboration represents the initial phase of an alternative fuels strategy aimed at meeting its decarbonization goals and adhering to stricter environmental regulations.
