#8 Natural emulsifier certified 91% biobased by USDA

In the UK, Cambridge-based Aqdot Limited says its AqStar M1 biobased emulsifier has received the Certified Biobased product label from the United States Department of Agriculture.

AqStar M1 can now include a label for 91% biobased content. The ingredient was commercialized in 2018 and can produce emulsions for hand, face and body products.

The glossy emulsions enable consistent skin coverage and can be used in pumps, tubes, bottles, and sprays, according to Aqdot Limited. They help fill a gap in natural emulsifiers, which traditionally have not performed as well as petrochemically derived incumbent products.
