In Vietnam, VN Express reported that a waste treatment plant in the central Thua Thien Hue Province, in Vietnam is set to generate 12MW of electricity per hour from 600 tons of waste it will process daily.
The plant is being built by China’s Everbright Environment Company at a cost of nearly $69 million. The facility is nearing completion and will start operating this quarter.
It is designed to treat around 220,000 tons of waste a year, generating 93 million kWh of electricity, according to the report.
