In Australia, Energy Today reported that Western Green Energy Hub and Korea Electric Power Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) towards the development of a green hydrogen hub in Western Australia.
Located in the Goldfields-Esperance region, the project will cover 15,000 square kilometers, using 3,000 wind turbines and 25 million solar panel modules.
Western Australia Hydrogen Industry Minister Bill Johnston, said: “This is an exciting project for Western Australia and will put our State on the forefront of producing green hydrogen, making it competitive on a worldwide scale.
Once complete, the project will generate 3.5 million tons of green hydrogen per year.
