#10 Elbit Systems and Ballard Unmanned Systems to develop fuel cell drones following $6.4M investment in clean energy projects

In Israel, Xinhuanet reports that The Israeli Ministry of Energy and the United States Department of Energy will invest $6.4 million in seven joint clean energy projects covering fuel cells, biomass, water-energy nexus, natural gas, and energy efficiency. The fuel-cell initiative will develop hydrogen-powered verticle take-off and landing drones that will emit zero greenhouse gases during use. The funds will be invested under the Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Energy program, which works to encourage and facilitate operation between the U.S. and Israeli companies in a wide range of technology sectors. Elbit Systems Ltd. and Ballard Unmanned Systems Inc. will jointly develop the hydrogen-powered drone under the project.
