#10 Bamboo toothbrush options abound

In New York, Medical News compiled a list of bamboo-based toothbrushes for those looking to live a “zero-waste lifestyle.” The publication reports that more than a billion toothbrushes are thrown out annually, with the vast majority—99%—ending up in landfills.

KOOLERTHINGS’ toothbrush has a natural bamboo handle and is sold in biodegradable craft paper packaging, while Wowe’s Natural Organic Bamboo Toothbrush is sold in a four-pack that it says will last one person a year. Bamboo’s Plant-based Bamboo Toothbrush includes bristles made from vegetable oil.

Mother’s Vault’s Bamboo Toothbrush—voted the best bamboo toothbrush on Amazon by several blogs uses nylon bristles free from bisphenol-A, while bmbu’s Bamboo Toothbrush has charcoal bristles that are effective at removing teeth stains.

Dr. Perfect Bamboo Toothbrush—also with charcoal-infused bristles—offers a more affordable option at $13 for 12 brushes.
