August 24, 2023 |

In the UK, ZeroAvia announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with UAE renewable energy firm Masdar to explore hydrogen production and supply at key locations.

The partnership with Masdar will focus initially on projects in North America and Europe, while also looking at the opportunity to establish clean flight operations in the UAE.

The UAE aims to produce 1.4 million tons of hydrogen annually by 2031 and expects the figure to increase tenfold to 15 million by 2050.

“We need large investment in renewable energy capacity to accelerate a future of truly clean flight for the entire industry, so we are delighted to partner with Masdar in this endeavor. Together, we are bringing the clean propulsion technology and the fuel to airlines to ensure that passengers can fly without any emissions and climate effects as soon as possible,” said Val Miftakhov, Founder and CEO of ZeroAvia.

Based in the US and the UK, ZeroAvia has already secured experimental certificates for its three prototype aircraft from the CAA and FAA and secured a number of partnerships with major aircraft OEMs.
